H&M will let people convert old clothing items into new ones at Stockholm store

I think H&M should introduce this new invention, called ‘the looop’ everywhere and I’m strongly convinced that every clothing store needs to do this. The looop will change old clothing into new ones via a recycling process.

The first reason why I strongly believe this, is because it will reduce the clothing waste. In 2017 there was a waste of textile from 16.9 million tons. This is really a lot and there should be something done about it. With this machine, the waste will obviously decrease.

Secondly, the machine ‘the looop’ is also good for the climate because the recycling process doesn't use water or chemicals. So due to this machine, not only the waste in the clothing industry will reduce, it has also no bad influence on the climate change. This is what we mean with ‘hitting two targets with one shot’ 😉.

Finally, I just am strongly convinced that it will have a big impact on the volume of clothing waste generated annually. It has not right now a huge impact, but that’s just because it’s only available in one store. If they do this in more stores, we will see a change immediately.

In conclusion, I really think that H&M should install this invention named ‘the looop’ everywhere and I’m also strongly convinced that every clothing store should do this, in contribution to reduce the clothing waste. The machine will make new clothing out of old clothing. This results in less waste. It’s also good for the climate because the recycling process doesn’t use any water or chemicals.
